A Charity Built on
Connection &Community

Our mission is to reduce isolation and loneliness amongst women in our community.
We do this through events, place-based programs and community initiatives that strengthen connection and promote positive mental wellbeing. We are a community-led movement creating spaces where women feel seen and supported without label or stigma. Through awareness, advocacy and fundraising, we support women most at risk of isolation while fostering an inclusive community where all women of all backgrounds can come together, have fun, feel supported and create lasting connections.

Why does connection
matter?

Did you know that Loneliness is linked to approximately 100 deaths every hour?  - that's more than 871,000 deaths annually and equivalent to smoking 16 cigarettes a day!

Loneliness can affect anyone. Experiences of loneliness can vary, but its effects can be profound with studies show chronic loneliness can increase the risk of premature death by up to 200% for women. Social isolation also has significant impacts on mental and physical health, increasing the risk of depression, suicide, dementia and chronic illness.

Meaningful, supportive social connections are essential for wellbeing. It is important more than ever, to create safe spaces to reduce barriers, reduce stigma and offer a sense of belonging for those most at risk.

Who is most at risk of isolation?

Isolation is not always visible. Across Australia, many women experience periods of disconnection due to social, economic and life circumstances. Whether it is a young woman navigating change, a woman experiencing crisis, or a survivor of domestic and family violence, there are many pathways that can lead to isolation.

Research continues to show that social isolation and loneliness are growing public health concerns, with significant impacts on mental health, wellbeing and community connection. Below are key statistics highlighting the scale of isolation and loneliness across Australia.
