What a beautiful morning tea yesterday at @composurestudiotsv Composure Studio.

We had over 20 incredible women come together for our TWS Morning Tea to celebrate what we were most proud of in 2025 🤍🩷

We shared a bespoke cake from @bakermadetsv asked each woman to write down a moment that brought her joy, pride, or a sense of accomplishment... (big or small!)

Each note was placed into the cake, and as we shared them, we cheered one another on. It turned into the most beautiful icebreaker, sparking honest conversations about what we’ve achieved and what we’re excited to step into in 2026.

Thank you to everyone who humoured me and trusted the process with this little experiment — it worked even better than I imagined ✨

I had the honour of attending the Queensland Community Achievement Awards — and The Womens Society were incredibly humbled to be named Winner of the Royal on the Park Local Legend Award. 🩷

Standing in a room filled with inspiring people, all doing extraordinary things for their communities, was a reminder of just how much heart and hard work exists across Queensland. A huge congratulations to every nominee, finalist and winner!

For us, this award is so much more than recognition. It’s a voice for the volunteer-led, grassroots organisations who often operate without funding, without staff, and without the safety nets that bigger organisations have.

Statistics don't lie:

▪︎ Loneliness is linked to approximately 100 deaths every hour – more than 871,000 deaths annually!!!

▪︎ Almost 1 in 3 people feel lonely, and people in rural areas and women are more likely to feel lonely.

▪︎ 85% of women in rural areas have reported feeling isolated, and half lacked access to support groups or safe places to connect

▪︎ 42% of women do not seek help due to perceived stigma

▪︎ 1 in 3 Women are Diagnosed with Anxiety in Their Lifetime

The Womens Society is dedicated to reducing isolation and lonliness through engaging events and community initiatives.

Safe spaces and opportunities for connection aren’t “nice to have”… they are essential.

We’re excited to share that The Women’s Society is hosting a FREE Wellness Gathering during Queensland Mental Health Week 2025, all thanks to the Queensland Mental Health Commission and The Gypseas Collective.

Sunday 5th October 2025
Event Time: 10:00am–1:00pm

In support of Mental Health Week we have joined forces with local organisations to bring a morning full of mindfulness, live acoustic music, positivity and good vibes. This year’s focus is strengthening our connection with community, self, others, and nature.

Leadership isn’t about a job title or corner office. It’s about showing up. It’s about choosing empathy, courage, and compassion — even when it’s hard.

A leader is the woman who checks in on her friends. Who uplifts others without expectation. Who listens, nurtures, mentors, and brings people with her as she rises.

Leadership lives in motherhood, in sisterhood, in our communities — in every woman who dares to care, create change, and foster belonging.

Sharing my story for the first time was a huge milestone for me and so grateful for Leading Ladies to raise funds for The Womens Society.

It is important more than ever to support grassroot organisations. Especially in regional and remote areas where 85% of women report feeling isolated, and more than 25% of women falling through the cracks in health support services.
