Founder Jade Nelson Joins State Consultation on Women’s Economic Security

The Women’s Society Founder Jade Nelson recently participated in the Women’s Economic Security and Wellbeing Thought Leaders Roundtable in Brisbane, contributing to discussions that will inform Queensland’s first strategy focused on women’s economic security.

The consultation brought together community leaders, policy makers and advocates from across the state to share insights and experiences from their work supporting women.

As the founder of a grassroots organisation working directly with women in regional communities, Jade highlighted the importance of community-led solutions and safe spaces where women can connect and access support.

The roundtable provided an opportunity to ensure that regional voices were included in shaping the strategy and that lived experiences from communities like Townsville are reflected in future policy directions.
